Trucker flown to hospital after swerving off overpass to miss car

A truck driver was injured after driving off of an overpass while swerving to miss a car in Idaho on Thursday. 

The accident happened on November 14th at around 11:30 a.m. on Idaho Highway 77 near Declo, Idaho.

According to EastIdahoNews, a 21-year-old motorist from Carlsbad, California exited Interstate 84 and failed to yield before turning onto southbound Highway 77, right into the path of an oncoming semi truck. The 37-year-old trucker from Sonora, Mexico then swerved to miss the car and lost control. The semi truck then went through the guardrails and off of the overpass. 

The truck driver was injured in the crash and was flown to the hospital. Details of his condition are unknown. 

The roadway was blocked while crews worked to remove the semi truck with a crane. 

No further information has been released.
