Trucker found dead in cab from gunshot wound near Nashville truck stop

Homicide detectives are investigating after a truck driver was found dead in the cab of his vehicle near a Nashville truck stop on Monday.

On Monday, January 8, the body of 37 year old North Carolina-based truck driver David White was found in the cab of his truck parked on Lucas Lane adjacent to the Love’s Travel Stop in East Nashville, Tennessee.

WSMV reports that White was found unresponsive in the cab by a truck stop employee after his trucking company was unable to make contact and asked for a welfare check.

Police say that White was last seen buying food at the Love’s truck stop around 7:20 p.m. on Sunday, January 7.

The Metro Nashville Police Department says that homicide detectives are investigating the shooting death.
