After decades behind the wheel, a veteran trucker turned in her keys and kicked off her well-deserved retirement.
On November 4, Swift Transportation announced the retirement of driver Lori Simba after 35 years on the road.
According to Fox4KC, Simba achieved 4.5 million safe miles since she started her career in 1988.
Simba started her trucking career with MNX and stayed on when the company was acquired by Swift.
“If you had the pleasure of working with Lori or meeting her, you’d agree that she is the kindest person. Lori loves to talk about her family, the amazing people she has met on the road and her long career here at Swift. She has helped countless drivers find their footing in the trucking world as a mentor for many years and has left a significant imprint here,” Swift said.
