Trucker shot on Indiana interstate, suspect at large

Indiana State Police (ISP) are seeking a suspect who opened fire on a moving semi truck on Thursday evening, leaving a truck driver with serious injuries.

ISP responded at 4:45 p.m. on March 28 to southbound I-65 at mile marker 224 in Jasper County for a reported shooting involving a semi truck driver.

Troopers rendered aid until medical personnel arrived. The truck driver was airlifted to a hospital for treatment.

Troopers say that the semi truck driver was southbound on I-65 when he was shot, suffering potentially life-threatening injuries.

No arrests have been made at this time. The investigation is active and ongoing.

ISP asks that anyone who may have been in the area and witnessed any suspicious activity prior to the shooting contact Detective Hamed at 219-696-6242 and leave a message with the Lowell District Post Commander.
