Truckers are reporting being stuck on a New Mexico interstate for hours amid a major winter storm.
As of 1 p.m. on November 7, the New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) has closed I-40 at Clines Corners (east of Albuquerque), as well as I-25 at Raton Pass (north of Albuquerque) amid heavy snow and blowing wind. Road closures began on Wednesday as a storm moved through the area.

According to reports, several semi trucks crashed amid the winter weather conditions on eastbound I-40.
Truckers are reporting hours of being stuck on the shuttered interstate with no movement as winter weather pummels the state.
Officials haven’t estimated when the interstates are expected to reopen. The US National Weather Service Albuquerque New Mexico says that the “powerful early season snowstorm” is expected to continue through Friday evening.
