Trucker’s body pulled from river after plunging off bridge

A truck driver’s body was recovered from a river in British Columbia after crashing off of a bridge over the weekend. 

The accident happened on Saturday, August 24th in Sicamous, British Columbia, Canada on the RW Bruhn Bridge on Highway 1. The driver’s body was recovered on Sunday, August 25th. 

According to Fraser Valley Today, the tractor trailer drove off the bridge while heading eastbound on Saturday morning, breaking a section of barrier wall and killing the truck driver. The wreck left a trail of debris floating in the water and forced the cleanup of several nearby beach parks as crews worked to clear the debris and recover the body of the truck driver. 

The body was recovered on Sunday, August 25th, but the driver’s identity has not been released. 

The bridge will remain closed until crews determine whether it sustained any structural damage in the accident. No further information has been released.
