Trucker’s dash cam catches RV explosion that damaged commercial vehicles at PA Turnpike service plaza

A sleeping truck driver’s dash cam captured a major vehicle explosion that occurred at a service plaza along the Pennsylvania Turnpike this week.

The explosion occurred around 4:30 a.m. on November 19 at the Blue Mountain Service Plaza located in Hopewell Township, Pennsylvania.

WGAL reports that the semi driver who provided the video was parked at the service plaza and was asleep when a nearby recreational vehicle exploded.

Officials say that there was a propane leak and that a person inside the RV lit up a a cigarette, which triggered the explosion.

The RV was destroyed. One person inside the RV was transported to a hospital for treatment of injuries.

The explosion damaged several commercial vehicles parked at the service plaza.
