A collection of festive semi trucks gathered over the weekend to celebrate the holiday season and spread cheer to local children.
The event was organized by trucker wife Kyley Matheny, in Clarksburg, West Virginia, who says she has been thinking about the event since Christmas 2023, but wasn’t sure she could make it happen until Truck or Treat in October of this year.
“I wanted to one last year, but I was too late getting to it and with the truck or treat everybody was like oh my gosh you should do something for Christmas,” said Kyley Matheny. “So, all the guys back there was really supportive of the idea, and we were able to get all together.”
The event featured decorated semi trucks, a few food trucks, and an appearance by Santa, who rode in on a bobtail semi, reported 5 WDTV.
“Making sure that we get great memories for these kids to remember on this special day,” said Gabriella Alexander, who was photographing the event. “Because Christmas spirit is what its all about and I can’t wait to capture those memories.”
“So, the purpose of all the trucks behind me is that all of them will come together to gather toys and it’s going towards our angel tree program with the Salvation Army,” said local official Tim Grider. ” We are so thrilled that they thought to do this.”
After the event, drivers delivered the collected toys straight to the Salvation Army.
