Truckers encouraged to weigh in on NY state truck parking needs

Published:

The New York State Department of Transportation is planning to increase truck parking along important truck routes and needs trucker input before hashing out the details.

NYSDOT is conducting a study regarding truck traffic and trucker needs along Interstate 84 near US Route 9 in Fishkill and East Fishkill, New York, as well as the State Route 747 interchange in Newburgh.

Truck drivers can contribute to a parking survey and an interactive map. The survey collects information on truck parking experiences in general, and specifically between Middletown and Fishkill on I-84, on I-87 between Woodbury and New Paltz, and along interstates in Newburgh.

Drivers can also contribute to an interactive map where they can select the areas where truck parking is most needed. The study will run through June 28th and can be found here.
