Truckers to pay more as Ohio Turnpike tolls increase in 2025

Truckers traveling on the Ohio Turnpike should expect to pay more due to a toll increase going into effect in January.

Effective January 1, 2025, a toll increase will be implemented along the 241-mile Ohio Turnpike for both passenger vehicles and commercial vehicles.

The E-ZPass toll rate for commercial vehicles (Class 5) will increase from 20.4 cents per mile in 2024 to 22 cents per mile in 2025.

For commercial vehicle (Class 5) customers paying with cash, the toll rate will increase from 25.6 cents per mile in 2024 to 27.6 cents per mile in 2025.

Toll fees go towards maintenance, operation, and security of the Ohio Turnpike, according to the Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission.

“Despite the rising costs of highway construction and bridge projects, the Ohio Turnpike’s toll rates still rank among of the lowest in the country,” Turnpike officials said.
