Trucker’s window smashed by hay bale on passing pickup

A pickup hauling large hay bales on a narrow road left a trucker’s window smashed when the two trucks got to close.

The dash cam video was recorded by a tanker truck in Houston County, Texas on State Highway 7 near mile marker 662.

In the clip, the truck driver and oncoming pickup hauling hay attempt to pass each other on a narrow roadway made even more narrow by a construction barrier. As they pass, one of the hay bales on the pickup’s trailer strikes the tanker truck’s mirror. The impact then smashes the driver’s side window of the tanker truck, spraying glass all over the truck driver.

The Texas Department of Public Safety described the incident as a hit-and-run, but the narrow lanes and the nature of the incident make it seem as if maybe the pickup driver didn’t even know what happened.

Still, anyone with information on the incident is urged to call the Crockett Highway Patrol Office at 936-544-7050. Watch the video of the incident, below.
