Twenty truck fleet allowed to resume operations after an accident in the Massey Tunnel led to the company being suspended.
The accident happened earlier this month when a truck from TSD Holdings Ltd. attempted to drive through the Massey Tunnel in Richmond, B.C. The truck struck the roof of the tunnel, stopped briefly, and then continued on its way.
After the accident, the B.C.’s Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure ordered TSD Holdings to cease operations while they investigated the Massey Tunnel strike. The company was issued tickets totaling $2,371 and “was asked to submit an action plan to address all areas of non-compliance.”
Now, the ministry believes that TSD Holdings has made “the necessary changes that could be made” during its suspension, and that its action plan will ensure future oversized loads will be transported in a safe and legal manner, reported CTV News.
The Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement branch “will be monitoring the carrier to ensure their on-road behaviour follows the company’s commitment and the relevant regulations.”
