Twenty vehicle pileup on Mississippi highway declared ‘mass casualty’ crash

A major pileup crash occurred on a foggy Mississippi highway on Wednesday morning.

The crash occurred around 6:30 a.m. on February 21 on Highway 84 in Jones County, Mississippi.

WDAM reports that twenty vehicles including semi trucks were involved in a pileup crash in the westbound lanes of Highway 84.

A log truck involved in the pileup spilled its load on the highway.

EMServe Ambulance reported the incident as a “mass casualty” crash, with approximately twenty people hurt. No fatalities have been reported at this time.

While the pileup caused major traffic delays on Wednesday morning, traffic is moving again in both directions. 

The Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
