One person is dead and another was injured following a train vs. semi truck collision in in Dundy County, Nebraska, on Tuesday.
The Dundy County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) was notified of an accident at 2:45 p.m. on July 16.
Officials responded to Highway 34 at mile marker 2 for a train vs. semi truck crash.
“Preliminary investigation shows that the semi was attempting to cross the tracks ahead of the BNSF train’s arrival to that crossing,” DCSO said.
The occupants of the semi truck were ejected. Both were transported to hospitals for treatment.
The passenger in the semi truck later died from his injuries.
Neither the driver or passenger of the semi truck were identified, but police say both were Wyoming residents.
