Video shows Ohio trooper discovering $14.26 million in drugs while inspecting semi trailer

The Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) released body cam video captured during a roadside drug bust earlier this year.

On Monday, December 16, OSHP shared police body cam video from a semi truck traffic stop that occurred Madison County in August 2024.

In the video, the trooper tells the truck driver that the traffic stop was initiated because “you were driving about 74, 75, coming at me. You hit the brakes and you jumped over into the right lane. You were running about 72, 73, and you went out of your lane a couple times. And your trailer plate’s expired.”

The trooper decides to inspect the truck after becoming suspicious about the driver’s travel timeline.

During the traffic stop, the OSHP trooper uncovered 17.6 pounds of cocaine and 300 pounds of methamphetamine concealed in the truck’s trailer. The estimated street value of the seized drugs is $14.26 million.

OSHP said that felony charges related to drug trafficking were filed against the 41 year old truck driver.
