Washington troopers uncover 23 violations during commercial vehicle inspection

The Washington State Patrol (WSP) Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Bureau recently discovered nearly two dozen violations while inspecting a combination.

On June 13, 2024, WSP took to social media to call out a large number of violations uncovered during a recent commercial vehicle inspection in Whatcom County.

From WSP:

This combination was stopped by one of our CVEOs in Whatcom County. In total, 23 violations were noted on an inspection. To name a few, there were multiple unsecured items of cargo, 50% of the brakes were inoperative, both safety chains connecting the truck were defective, the air compressor couldn’t keep up with the air leaks, 55 gallon drums filled with diesel were stacked on each other and secured with bungee cords, the hitch receiver was homemade and was not securely fastened to the frame, and the “co-driver” was operating the towed vehicle.

WSP shared photos of the some of the violations discovered during the inspection.
