Wyoming troopers call out truckers for taking ‘country and dirt roads’ around an interstate closure

Wyoming troopers are reminding truckers that there can be costly consequences for taking “country and dirt roads” to get around a winter weather interstate closure.

On January 13, Wyoming Highway Patrol – Commercial Carrier took to social media with the following message:

Your GPS is wrong!

These pictures were taken by one of our Port Officers just outside Evanston, Wyoming. Commercial drivers thought it would be a better idea to take county and dirt roads around an interstate closure. Needless to say it was a very expensive endeavor.

Never try to drive around a winter interstate closure. Keep up-to-date on all current conditions by checking www.wyoroads.info and please drive safe.
