Trucking company XPO planning Kansas City hub pending rezoning request for acreage.

The Connecticut-based trucking company XPO Inc. is looking to expand into the Kansas City, Kansas area through the development of 45 acres off of Kansas Highway 7 in Shawnee.

The 180,000 square foot development would be located east of K-7 on the north side of 43rd Street. The location is just east of the existing Amazon facility and Bonner Springs Industrial Park, as well as the Heartland Logistics Park on the west side of K-7.

The property is also just south of land intended for the future Kaw Lake Park, reported Fox4KC.

At a February 9th Shawnee City Council meeting, the council voted to send the rezoning request back to the planning commission.
