17 people were hospitalized after a pile-up crash involving 2 tractor trailers on Labor Day weekend along Interstate 20 in Texas.
The accident happened on Saturday afternoon, August 30th on westbound Interstate 20 near Lindale, Texas.
According to the Lindale Fire Department, the crash involved six passenger vehicles and two tractor trailers near mile marker 556. A total of 19 people were involved in the crash, 17 of which were hospitalized with non life threatening injuries.
One person has to be extricated from their vehicle using the Jaws of Life. Hazmat crews worked to clean up a “significant diesel and oil spill” from the roadway, closing I-20 for an extended period of time on Labor Day weekend.
The cause of the crash has not been released. Some footage of the crash can be seen below starting at about seven seconds in.
