$6M in marijuana & more discovered inside semi trucks crossing World Trade Bridge

Border officers seized more than $6 million worth of drugs during tractor trailer inspections over the weekend.

The discoveries occurred on December 27th and 28th at the World Trade Bridge in Laredo, Texas.

According to KXAN, one tractor trailer driver claimed to be hauling buckets of roof sealant, but x-ray scans and a k9 agent revealed 30 pounds of meth concealed inside of the buckets. The drugs had an estimated street value of $266,000.

Another tractor trailer was reportedly hauling mechanical appliances through the border, but was found to be carrying 2,700 pounds of marijuana after the use of x-ray scans and k9 agents. The drugs have an estimated value of about $6 million.

“CBP is proud of the work our frontline officers do to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our communities,” said Laredo Port Director Alberto Flores.
