85 citations issued during multi-agency commercial vehicle enforcement operation in California

Dozens of citations were issued during a single-day commercial vehicle enforcement effort that took place in Fontana, California.

On December 17, 2025, the Fontana Police Department (FPD) Traffic Unit partnered with several other law enforcement agencies to “conduct a large-scale commercial vehicle enforcement operation within the City of Fontana” to ensure that trucks were properly licensed, mechanically safe, and compliant with state and federal regulations.

As part of the operation, police set up a commercial checkpoint survey of the eastbound and westbound lanes of Slover Avenue between Live Oak Avenue and Poplar Avenue.

Other participating law enforcement agencies include California Highway Patrol, Ontario Police Department, Rialto Police Department, San Bernardino Police Department, Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Culver City Police Department, Chino Police Department, Pomona Police Department, Fullerton Police Department, and Beaumont Police Department.

“Commercial vehicle enforcement plays a critical role in traffic safety. Commercial vehicles that are improperly maintained or operated by unqualified drivers pose a significant risk to motorists, pedestrians, and the overall roadway system. These operations help prevent serious collisions, protect infrastructure, and promote accountability within the commercial transportation industry,” said FPD.
