91-year-old company rebrands, hires former Jack Cooper & Yellow leadership after being sold by DHL

A nearly century-old trucking company has been rebranded and stocked with new leadership after being sold off by DHL.

91-year-old Standard Forwarding was sold to Sakeem Holdings effective January 1st, 2025. The deal was announced on February 18th.

Sakeem Holdings has rebranded the company to Standard Forwarding Freight, a midwest LTL carrier with 14 terminals in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.

“We know that customers want simplicity. Speed and reliability are table stakes in the Midwest regional footprint. Our goal is to make shipping easy for our customers – through every step of the customer experience,” said Standard Forwarding Freight President Tim McKinstry in a release

Seven of the eight leadership roles listed on the website for the new company, including McKinstry, have previously worked for both Yellow and Jack Cooper.
