Trucker killed by own rig after jumping from moving truck on rural road

A truck driver is dead after jumping from his moving semi truck on a rural road in Texas on Tuesday morning. 

The incident occurred on June 24th at 10:54 a.m. on County Road D5100 in Martin County, Texas. 

According to Your Basin News, the truck driver was heading west on the county road when he inexplicably jumped from his moving semi truck. After exiting the moving vehicle, the driver was run over by the rear axles of his truck. 

The truck driver, 39-year-old Osvaldo Fernandez, was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported. 

The incident is still under investigation, and officials have not yet provided a possible reason for the driver jumping from the moving truck.
