At least one killed in head-on crash involving two semi trucks on bridge, Texas sheriff says

A major head-on collision involving semi trucks has been reported in Cherokee County, Texas, on Wednesday morning.

Officials say that the crash occurred around 9:40 a.m. on January 8 on Highway 79 west at the Cherokee and Anderson County line in Texas.

CBS19 reports that two 18 wheelers and an SUV were involved in a head-on collision on the Neches River Bridge.

Images from the scene show that at least one vehicle caught fire.

At least one fatality has been reported.

According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office – Texas, Highway 79 is closed and traffic is being rerouted to FM 747.
