A truck driver trapped by floodwaters was rescued by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and US Border Patrol Blaine Sector in Washington State, the agencies said.

Portions of Washington State experienced severe river flooding after heavy rains last week, prompting numerous road closures and forcing officials to issue evacuation orders.

As CBP’s Air and Marine Operations were on hand to assist Blaine Sector Border Patrol with assessing the flood damage, agents spotted a a semi truck trapped by “dangerous” flood waters, officials said on December 14.
Images shared by CBP show that a tractor was enlisted for use in the rescue effort.

“Through collaboration and rapid response, agents worked together to successfully rescue the driver,” CBP said.
