A CDL school serving formerly incarcerated, unhoused, and military individuals has been robbed of their trucks for the third time in three months.
Big Klass CDL in Dallas, Texas is run by veteran Kyree McClish, along with his wife. The school helps to give fresh starts to individuals who have been to prison, suffered from homelessness, or veterans just looking for a new path.
“I am a disabled veteran,” said Kyree McClish, Big Klass CDL Director. “I just feel like giving back was something that every American should do. It kind of helps drive me into a positive mind state.”
The school suffered its first theft in May, when a thief was caught on security camera driving away with one of their semi trucks. The school eventually got its truck back, but thieves stole the exact same truck once again in June. Now, the school has been hit a third time, only this time the thieves took two semi trucks.
“We had another break in and this time he stole two trucks,” Kyree McClish said.
McClish says that police were slow to respond to the last two times they were robbed of their trucks, so he tracked down an officer himself to get help locating the rigs. Luckily, investigators found a receipt left behind by the thieves, which led them to a business in Dallas believed to be connected to the thefts.
“It’s really sad,” Carolina McClish said. “It’s been businesses that we have to turn down because again we are down on equipment.”
“I just want something done,” Kyree McClish said. “I think we deserve that, especially when we’re actually changing lives and putting people to work.”
