CHP to offer free lunch for truck driver appreciation event at Gilroy scale house
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) will host an appreciation event in September to celebrate the trucking community.
The Truck Driver Appreciation Day will be held on September 9, 2025, at CHP’s northbound Gilroy Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Facility located at 12000 South Valley Freeway, in San Martin, California.
As part of the event, CHP promises “a range of events and activities designed to express gratitude for the vital contributions of truck drivers,” including:
- Company outreach booths (10 a.m. — 2 p.m.)
- Free burgers and hotdogs (11 a.m. — 1:30 p.m.)
- Questions and answers with CHP personnel

The event is being held ahead of National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, taking place this year from September 14 through September 20.
