The Arkansas Highway Police (AHP) seized thousands of pounds of marijuana uncovered during a roadside commercial vehicle inspection over the weekend.
On October 11, 2025, AHP troopers performed a routine safety inspection on a commercial vehicle along I-40 in Crawford County, according to the Arkansas Department of Transportation.
During the inspection, troopers discovered six pallets of marijuana concealed in the truck’s shipment of pool tables.
The seized marijuana weighs approximately 3,000 pounds and is valued at around $3.5 million.
Truck driver Steve Williams, 43, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and simultaneous possession of firearm. He was booked into the Crawford County Detention Center.
Williams was believed to have been traveling from California to Florida when he was stopped by police.
“This seizure underscores the commitment and vigilance of AHP officers to combat drug trafficking and ensure the safety of our roadways,” AHP Chief Jeff Holmes said.
