The charges stem from a February 18 traffic stop on eastbound I-78 at mile marker 6.3 in Greenwich Township, New Jersey.
A tractor trailer under operation by Attiq Ur-Rahman underwent an inspection.
During the inspection, “it was determined that the tractor trailer was transporting marijuana,” according to NJSP, and a subsequent search of the trailer uncovered 8,042.2 pounds of raw hydroponic marijuana, 12,062 pounds of various cannabis/THC products, and 13.4 pounds of psilocybin products.
The total weight of the seized drugs was 20,117.6 pounds.
The seized drugs are worth over $36 million, troopers say.
Fnu Attiq Ur-Rahman and Hafeez Rehman Ur were arrested and lodged in the Warren County Correctional Center.
