Troopers with the Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZDPS) Highway Patrol are asking drivers to leave each other more room following a multi-vehicle collision that took place on I-10 this week.
The crash occurred on October 7, 2025, on I-10 outside of Sacaton, Arizona.
“A commercial vehicle was driving in the left lane, was following too closely, and could not stop in time to avoid a collision. The CMV struck a Toyota Tundra towing a trailer. The trailer became lodged in the CMV’s windshield, and the Tundra was pushed into two other vehicles,” AZDPS said.
All drivers and passengers involved in the four-vehicle crash were transported from the scene for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.
AZDPS called the crash a “reminder to leave space between you and the car in front of you” and offered the following driving tips to avoid similar collisions:
- Don’t tailgate and stay alert! No matter what you’re driving, leave plenty of space between you and the vehicle in front of you to allow yourself time to brake in case of an emergency. The bigger the vehicle, the longer it will take to stop.
- Reminder to CMV drivers – stay to the right unless passing, preparing for a left turn, or when the right lane is closed. This could prevent an incident that puts you or your truck out of service.
