Dallas police arrest five in connection with $1 million cargo theft ring

The Dallas Police Department (DPD) reports recovering $1 million in stolen goods linked to at least ten cargo theft cases in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

On November 1, 2025, police were notified of a stolen trailer being pulled by a semi truck into a repair shop in the 5200 block of University Hills Boulevard in Dallas, Texas.

Police detained the truck driver as well as two other suspects.

After investigating, police determined that the shop owner and manager, both present at the location, were also involved in the theft operation.

“Further investigation revealed that the repair shop was being used to store large quantities of stolen cargo. The Salvage Squad Unit obtained a search warrant and recovered approximately $1 million in stolen goods linked to at least ten cargo theft cases across the DFW metroplex dating back to 2022,” DPD said.

“This successful operation highlights outstanding coordination between South Central CRT, the Salvage Squad, and the Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigation Division, whose teamwork led to the recovery of stolen property and the dismantling of a major theft ring impacting multiple North Texas communities,” police said.
