Dash cammer can’t avoid collision with big rig jackknifing on New York interstate

New York State Police (NYSP) shared dash cam video of a two truck crash that occurred this week as a reminder “of how weather can quickly affect road conditions.”

The dash cam video was captured at 6 p.m. on March 6 on northbound I-81 in Homer, New York.

In the video, you can see a tractor trailer driver losing control while traveling in the left lane ahead of the dash cammer. The out of control truck veers into the right lane and then jackknifes back toward the left lane, leaving the dash cammer nowhere to go to avoid a crash.

It isn’t clear if the white passenger vehicle vehicle on the shoulder of the roadway contributed to the crash.

NYSP said that neither truck driver involved was injured.
