Driver sentenced to eight years for intentionally crashing rig through grocery store entrance after causing a disturbance

A truck driver has been sentenced to eight years in prison after intentionally crashing his truck through the front entrance of a Kroger grocery store.

Truck driver Clarence Carter crashed through the Millington, Tennessee Kroger grocery store in April of 2024. He was sentenced this month.

According to WREG 3, Carter initially went into the store on foot, where he caused a disturbance. After exiting the store, he intentionally crashed his truck through the front of the grocery store. No one was hurt in the incident.

Carter was attempting to drive the truck out of the store when officers arrived. He was quickly taken into custody.

“We had to dismantle the truck to get the truck out of the building,” Chief Gary Graves, Public Safety Director of the City of Millington said of the incident.

Carter pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment, and was sentenced to eight years. He requested to have his sentence suspended, but his request was denied.
