A dump truck driver involved in a crash that killed four linemen will be indicted for murder this week.
66-year-old dump truck driver Michael Ray Vernon failed to stop at a stop sign in Eden, North Carolina this past April, causing him to crash into a crew of linemen. Four men died as a result of the incident.
According to MyFox8, Vernon was previously charged with with one count of failing to stop for a stop sign, one count of operating a commercial motor vehicle without a valid CDL and 4 counts of misdemeanor death by motor vehicle.
As of Monday, November 17th, Vernon is now being charged with four counts of second-degree murder without regard and three counts of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. He will be indicted Wednesday, November 19th with a court appearance scheduled for 2 p.m.
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol and the NTSB are investigating the incident.
