The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has added four electronic logging devices (ELDs) to the agency’s list of revoked devices.
On Tuesday, December 30, 2025, FMCSA removed the following ELDs from the list of approved devices for failure to meet federal standards:
FMCSA advises drivers and carriers using one of the devices to take the following actions:
“Electronic logging devices play an important role in preventing unsafe driving practices,” said FMCSA Administrator Derek D. Barrs. “When devices don’t meet federal requirements, they put safety at risk, and that’s why we take action to remove them and keep our roads safer for everyone.”
FMCSA advises law enforcement and safety personnel not to cite drivers using one of these revoked ELDs for the next 60 days.
However, starting March 1, 2026, motor carriers who continue to use the revoked devices listed above will be considered as operating without an ELD and can be cited for “No record of duty status” and placed out-of-service.
Earlier this month, FMCSA revoked the following three ELDs and gave carriers a deadline of February 7, 2026, to replace the revoked devices with approved ELDs.
In a December 1, 2025, statement, FMCSA promised a fix for the ELD vetting process “to ensure non-compliant devices are blocked before they ever reach FMCSA’s Registered ELD list.”
