The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has removed eight electronic logging devices, or ELDs, from the agency’s list of approved devices.
On May 12, the FMCSA announced that the following eight Gorilla Fleet Safety, LLC, ELDs have been moved to the revoked devices list for failure to meet minimum federal requirements:
Carriers using one of the revoked ELDs are advised to take the following action:
The FMCSA allows carriers a 60 day grace period to replace non-compliant ELDs. During that time, law enforcement and safety officials are advised not to cite drivers using these revoked ELDs.
After July 11, 2025, officers who encounter a driver using a revoked device are advised to issue a citation for “No record of duty status” and to place the driver out-of-service.
“If the ELD provider corrects all identified deficiencies for its device, FMCSA will place the ELD back on the list of registered devices and inform the industry of the update. However, FMCSA strongly encourages motor carriers to take the actions listed above now to avoid compliance issues in the event that the deficiencies are not addressed by the ELD provider,” the agency said.
