Georgia police seek pickup driver who fled after fatally striking semi truck driver on foot

Police in Marietta, Georgia, are asking for public assistance in locating a motorist involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash early Wednesday.

The crash occurred around 2:30 a.m. on August 13 on northbound I-75 at South Marietta Parkway in Marietta, Georgia.

According to the Marietta Police Department (MPD), 36 year old Tennessee-based truck driver Terrell Lowdermilk was involved in a crash with another semi truck on northbound I-75.

Both truck drivers pulled off on the right shoulder after the crash, one on the interstate and one on the exit ramp to South Marietta Parkway.

“While outside his vehicle, in the left lane of travel on the entrance ramp from South Marietta Pkwy to I-75 north bound, Loudermilk was struck by an unknown vehicle that fled the scene,” MPD said.

Lowdermilk died at the scene.

Police say that evidence collected at the crash site shows that the suspect vehicle is a 2019 — 2022 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck.
