Several cows are dead after a livestock hauler flipped on a notoriously dangerous curve in North Carolina on Tuesday morning.
The accident happened on January 21st at around 12:30 a.m. on the ramp from I-85 South to I-77 near Charlotte, North Carolina.
According to WBTV 3, the tractor trailer was on a sharp left curve deemed a “high crash zone” when it overturned, trapping about 40 cows inside and killing several others.
The truck driver was not hurt in the incident. Police, cattle wranglers, and three other trailers were brought in to offload the surviving cows.
A sign deeming the ramp a “high crash zone” was installed in December 2024. The ramp is estimated to be reopened by 1 p.m. EST.
