The California Highway Patrol (CHP) arrested a motorist on DUI charges following a hit-and-run crash with a semi truck.
On July 30, a white Hyundai was involved in a hit-and-run collision with a black Peterbilt truck in combination with a trailer, according to CHP’s Coalinga Division.

The Hyundai was seen after the crash traveling southbound on I-5, just south of Manning Avenue.
CHP responded and located a vehicle matching the suspect’s vehicle description traveling at speeds of more than 100 m.p.h.
A high-speed traffic stop was initiated and the female motorist was taken into custody without further incident.

Following an investigation, the motorist was arrested for DUI and hit-and-run.
“This rapid response and teamwork by our officers prevented further danger to the motoring public,” said CHP.
