Indiana State Police (ISP) are investigating a fiery fatal crash involving multiple semi trucks that occurred late Monday night in Jasper County.
The crash occurred around 11 p.m. on August 4 on southbound I-65 at Exit 220 in Fair Oaks, Indiana.
State troopers say that three semi trucks were involved in a collision on I-65, resulting in at least one fatality.

One of the trailers was loaded with peat moss, which kept reigniting as crews responded to the crash.
ISP said on Tuesday morning that there is currently no estimated time for southbound I-65 to reopen because the roadway will require repaving after the damaged vehicles and other materials are removed from the roadway.
“Traffic is being diverted at S.R. 14 (exit 220). SEEK ALTERNATIVE ROUTES! (U.S. 41, U.S. 231, or S.R. 55) This closure is anticipated to last well into the late afternoon, if not longer,” ISP said.
ISP Sgt. Glen Fifield provides a look at the crash scene in the video below.
