Interstate 83 was shut down in both directions on Friday morning after a multi vehicle wreck resulted in a load of spilled hot dogs.
The accident happened just after 9 a.m. on I-83 in Shrewsbury, Pennsylvania between exit 4 and exit 8.
According to Fox 43, the crash involved a tractor trailer hauling frozen hot dogs and two other vehicles. Four people were transported to a hospital with non life threatening injuries, and an interstate median was damaged.
The exact cause of the wreck that spilled hot dogs has not been released.
Officials shut down both northbound lanes and one southbound lane for cleanup of the scene. PennDOT reportedly called in a truck to spread sand on the roadway, which had become slippery from hot dog debris.
No further information has been released.
