Ice Pick bandit strikes again with “no rhyme or reason” for semi trucks he targets

Published:

The Ice Pick Bandit is still at large after being caught on camera again at a truck stop he targeted back in September

The Ice Pick Bandit most recently targeted semi trucks at the Southfork Truck Stop in Gurdon, Arkansas during the night between January 19th and 20th. This second attack at the same truck stop makes for 296 tires slashed on 40 trucks.

“There’s no rhyme or reason for his actions,” said Clark County Sheriff Jason Watson, to the Arkadelphian. “There’s no rhyme or reason with the trucks he picks. We just can’t figure out the motivation of this guy.”

Watson says the most recent footage of the Ice Pick Bandit shows a red truck believed to be his getaway vehicle.

In light of the second attack, the Southfork Truck Stop manager says the business is working on getting higher resolution cameras installed as a way to either deter further attacks, or identify the suspect.

“Hopefully we can catch him red-handed or before he attacks the next time,” said manager Stephanie Helsey.

A truck stop in nearby Hazen was also targeted on the same night, reported KARK.

Watson says that the Ice Pick Bandit would be safer if he just turned himself in to police, because if he’s caught by truckers he will not be treated nicely.

“They’d love to catch him and put a whooping on him,” Watkins said.
