The Idaho State Police (ISP) Commercial Vehicle Safety Division recently conducted a large-scale commercial vehicle inspection and enforcement effort.
Troopers say that the blitz took place last week all across the state of Idaho, with special emphasis along the Canadian Border near Bonners Ferry and in the Lewiston area, with a goal of identifying and removing unsafe vehicles and unfit drivers from the road.
During the targeted enforcement effort, Commercial Vehicle Safety (CVS) specialists conducted 735 inspections.
ISP said that 127 vehicles were placed out-of-service for safety violations. Additionally, 34 drivers were taken out-of-service for various violations.
“Last week, our dedicated Commercial Vehicle Safety specialists across Idaho worked tirelessly to uphold the highest standards of safety on our roadways,” said Captain Jason Bailey, Idaho State Police Commercial Vehicle Safety Division. “From the Canadian Border near Bonners Ferry to Pocatello, CVS took vigilant enforcement against unsafe commercial vehicle conditions and operations, making a tangible impact. Enforcement efforts not only protected lives but also strengthened our mission to ensure safe and responsible transportation throughout the Gem State.”
