J.B. Hunt closing facility at GA Home Depot distribution center

J.B Hunt has submitted plans to close its facility at a Georgia Home Depot distribution center in reaction to “changing business conditions.”

J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc. filed a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification ACT notice on August 26th. The closure involved the J.B. Hunt facility at the Home Depot distribution center in Lithonia, Georgia.

According to Northwest Arkansas Democrat Gazette, the facility closure will affect 74 employees, including drivers, managers, and dispatchers. The company says the closure is in response to “changing business conditions.”

“When navigating a changing supply chain environment, J.B. Hunt strives to manage through any contract loss or facility closure by minimizing the impact to our people, including helping impacted employees transfer to open positions at other facilities or locations, if possible,” the company said.

The facility is scheduled to close on October 27th.
