Law enforcement agencies across the U.S. taking part in five day human trafficking awareness initiative

The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) is partnering with law enforcement agencies across the U.S. for a five day effort to curb human trafficking.

The CVSA’s first initiative of 2025 is the Human Trafficking Awareness Initiative (HTAI), taking place in the U.S. from January 13 through 17.

The purpose of HTAI is to educate commercial motor vehicle drivers, motor carriers, law enforcement officers, and the general public about the crime of human trafficking, the signs to look for and what to do if you suspect someone is being trafficked.

During the five day effort, law enforcement jurisdictions, motor carriers, and transportation safety organizations will take part in special enforcement and education to raise awareness about human trafficking.

Examples of HTAI law enforcement activities may include:

HTAI will take place in Canada on February 17 — 21, 2025, and in Mexico, HTAI is scheduled for March 17 — 21, 2025.

If you suspect someone is in a human trafficking situation or you are the victim of human trafficking, call 911. The U.S. National Human Trafficking Hotline is also available at 888-373-7888 or text 233733.
