Law enforcement to take part in nationwide five-day human trafficking initiative in January 2026

The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) will spearhead an initiative focusing on human trafficking awareness, identification and prevention starting in January.

The CVSA’s Human Trafficking Awareness Initiative (HTAI) will take place in the U.S. January 12 — 16, 2026.

During HTAI, the CVSA partners with law enforcement to help educate commercial motor vehicle drivers, motor carriers, and the public about the crime of human trafficking, indicators to look for, and what to do when a victim of human trafficking has been identified.

As part of HTAI, jurisdictions conduct human trafficking awareness and outreach efforts and report those activities to the CVSA.

In Canada, HTAI will take place HTAI dates are February 23 — 27, 2026, and in Mexico, HTAI is set for March 16 — 20, 2026.

HTAI is part of CVSA’s Human Trafficking Prevention Program, which seeks to reduce human trafficking throughout North America through coordinated enforcement, investigation, and education within the commercial motor vehicle industry.
