A load of apple sauce leaked onto an Illinois interstate in a single rig crash earlier this week.
The accident happened on Monday, October 6th in Franklin County, Illinois at 4:38 a.m.
According to Local 12, police were called on reports of a single vehicle crash on Interstate 57 and arrived to find a tractor trailer with a load of apple sauce overturned in the roadway.
The crash broke open the trailer and spilled the apple sauce across the roadway, leaving a yellow pool of smashed apples on the pavement.
Cleanup of the incident took about four hours. I-57 was reopened at about 8:45 a.m.
No injuries were reported. It is not clear if the truck driver was cited for the incident.
