A load of M&M candy was spread across a highway in New Jersey on Monday after a crash between a parked rig and a moving tractor trailer.
The accident happened at about 10:17 p.m. on Monday, September 15th along Interstate 80 near Knowlton Township, New Jersey.
According to Knowlton Township Fire & Rescue, a tractor trailer was parked on the shoulder of I-80 westbound near the 2.4 mile marker when a second tractor trailer crashed into the back end of it. The force of the collision ripped open the trailer of the stopped big rig, spilling its load of M&M candy across the roadway. The trailer of the second rig was also damaged.
Both truck drivers refused treatment. A detour was put in place until crews could clear the candy and trailer debris. The roadway was cleared just after midnight. No further information has been released.
