The opening of a new Love’s truck stop in Ohio has been pushed back due to construction delays.
The opening of the truck stop at the Belmont Morristown exit of Interstate 70 on Route 149 in Belmont County, Ohio was originally planned for the first of this year, but has been pushed back to later in 2025 due to issues described only as construction delays.
According to WTRF, an official, updated opening date has not been provided by Love’s. However, a Love’s representative says that the company is “excited to join the community.”
Once finished, the location will feature a tire store, a Godfather’s Pizza, a Hardee’s, and even amenities geared towards tourists rather than truck drivers.
“Amenities are planned like a dog park, they’re gonna have camping spots for travelers that are traveling with campers. And so it’s gonna be quite a facility. A little bit of a unique facility when you think about truck stops. It’s not just gonna be for semis but just a great addition and a great investment in Belmont County,” said the Executive Director of the Belmont County Port Authority, Larry Merry.
“So this new truck stop gives tourists an opportunity to get off of Interstate, come get gas and maybe they’ll check out other things we have in the area like Barkcamp State Camp right down the road or the Underground Railroad Museum the opposite direction,” said Jackee Pugh, the Executive Director of the Belmont County Tourism Council.
The finished building will be about 17,000 square feet, and the entire facility will cover dozens of acres on the site of a former golf course right across from the current Pilot Flying J.
