A man was arrested in connection to a brand new stolen semi truck that was stripped of parts and torched on the side of Interstate 91.
45-year-old Jason Dennis was arrested near Berlin, Connecticut on July 31st in connection to the theft of a brand new Peterbilt on March 31st.
According to WFSB 3, the brand new Peterbilt semi truck was stolen from a dealership and was reported stolen. Police later found it torched on the side of I-91in North Haven, and noticed that several parts had been removed before it was set on fire.
Police then launched an investigation that led them to execute a search warrant at New Haven Truck & Auto Body in East Haven. There, officers found a refurbished tractor trailer with several stolen parts installed. Police seized the semi truck and placed Dennis under arrest.
Dennis was charged with first-degree larceny, third-degree burglary, and first degree criminal trover. He has since posted $150,000 bond. His court date has been set for August 14th.
